it is a new invention presented during the CES Conference in Las Vegas: the AA NOn POllution POwer batteries presented by Aqua Power System Japan are a tiny revolution: you charge and recharge them with any liquid you have with you with a small pump (water, soda, saliva, pee, in case of emergency and you NEEEEEEEED to listen to THIS song on your i-pod NOOOOW?)
The company claims the battery doesn't use mercury or lead, the usual liquid stuff you don't want leaking in your car or close to any kid. Instead, it uses the liquid as a catalyst to drive a reaction between the magnesium and aluminium inside. Clever, no?
