To me, there is no organic food without social justice. Actually, it is social justice that led me to pledge to eat only organic grown meat: I've seen videos of mistreated chicken (beaten by employees) that revolted me, only to understand that employees were themselves subject to high stress. The two biggest poultries of the U.S have the lowest accidents reports rate, even lower than toy factories. Amazing, when you know the battery of sharp knives and speed of task processing the employees deal with everyday. Impossible? Actually yes. A report made in 2008 showed that most of the...

The Book I'm Reading : Women in the World Religions By Arvind Sharma
I found this book by chance in a cardbox in front of my porche (I know, there is no coincidence!).
It's explaining role of women in world religions. The book explains essentially that women helped starting religions and then lost their influence for man-driven societies.
A Sad History
The introduction made me very sad, thinking how much of a ruled-by-men-world has been denying and belittling womens' brain for so long. We are lucky to live where we live at the time we are living, women! But we are just at the...

Here is the "feel good" post...name something polluting that you did NOT do today -that you usually or often do, of course! Don't tell me "I did not drive a helicopter" if you never do!
Ok I'll start:
Today I DID NOT take my car
Today I DID NOT use shampoo in plastic bottle to wash my hair
Today I DID NOT take the plastic fork/knife to eat my to-go food
Who's next?

First I liked her. Her, is Ingrid Newkirk, President of PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animal):
She was outrageous, and sometimes going all the way is a good thing, like the numerous campaigns she started to raise people's awareness about killing animals for their skin, meat, bones. Below is an example of PETA's
campaign; they also organize happening events (like naked people with red paint, covered with transparent plastic like cellophane, figuring a piece of human meat in a giant fridge)
Then she started to annoy me for nailing to the wall the wrong guys:
PETA Urges Ben...

The lyrics are ironic - I like the mix between an angelic voice and a shift with what she actually says...
If you dont understand it, enjoy the clip! It's very cool
here is (more or less) what she says:
"Thanks for the plastic card the State gave to me,
I deserved it, for sure
To be born in a hospital with heater,
I deserved it for sure" (id card)
"Thanks to it I can go to the doctor for free
thanks to it I can go to school for free
...
thanks to it I'm provided with all these good things
You don't? Well, you should have born in France,
You're born on the other side of...

I dreamt about it, Fibrowatt made it!
Few years ago, I saw one of Michael Moore's movie(probably the Big One?) where he shows the oh so miserable life of people neighboring this huge poultry farm. They are infested with big black flies (that we elegantly call in French "mouche a merde" for their attraction to poop, crap and defecation). So their entire life is poisoned by these flies: for example, they need to eat in containers that they can seal quickly while chewing, so flies can't come on their plates. Yes. That bad. Big Poultry farm was in total denial, saying the flies...

Cafe Gratitude
This week-end thanks to Merav I went to a workshop called the Abundance River, led by the couple Engelhart who own the restaurants Cafe Gratitude. I feel so lucky I went there! First the workshop is awesome.Second I came to realize how "ordinary people" are all but ordinary. Au contraire! I got the chance to hear profound, authentic, real, loving individuals that I will never forget. The first day was especially powerful for me and I will not forget Estrella and T and the conversation we had in T's van back to the East Bay. It was wide opening and powerful,...

Oh yeah I know the feeling. My first reaction would be to take my head into my hands and shake it vigourosly: "one entire year spent doing nothing"!
Apart from getting married, and, going to Brazil (twice) for the first time, and Oh yeah...becoming American...oh I went back to France too...when was it? March? April?
See...all the major events starting to kicking in back into your memory? But what about smaller events, that you truly liked...like this amazing movie we went to see at this theatre...what was its name again?...and the discovery of the Harbin Springs where we met...

You know when people compare their wedding to a classical orchestra, where everyone knows how and when to play its part, and the result is this beautiful, airy classical music that plays for the entire wedding day?
Well, our wedding was a drumming jam session. And we played our part whenever it fit in the music, and danced until late in the night :-)
Our wedding was absolutely beautiful and one of a kind!
I believe it is because our friends brought their good energy and made it work!
I was wondering how i would describe my wedding....the technical part? how to make a wonderfu green...
