This post has nothing to do with plastic, but it does relate to personal activism and the power of each individual to make change in the world, if she or he simply tries.

Sometimes I get the feeling that there are people who view our recent changes in views as some kind of "experience". As if we watched some "magic" show and were so impressed. Or heard the words of a prophet and decided to eat like him. It is as if the difference between random information and science doesn't matter.

I love music more than ice cream. Even more than fudge sauce. And to me, the band Radiohead is like magic. I don't understand how they make the exquisite and sometimes excruciating sounds that they do.

Compostable spoons
This is a photo of a few things I brought home from the Outside Lands Music Festival Friday night: Two compostable cups made from corn and two compostable potato or cornstarch spoons.

shopping bag foolishness
I feel like walking into the nearest mall and shouting, "I wouldn't shop here with George Bush's money!" I don't shop.  No, seriously, I don't shop, especially for clothes.  I am not completely against shopping, if you need something, obviously  you have to go get it somewhere.  I buy groceries (well, I buy raw ingredients mostly) and when there is a special occasion,

It doesn't take many posts from me to realize that I blog to defend our choices. I am pretty sure that if I had been allowed to just be my "hippy" self with my crazy ideals without various "relatives" constantly telling me that I am "wrong", this blog would never have existed. So, thanks guys!

So, you know I switched to the no 'poo method of hair cleansing a couple of months ago, and it's been working fine. But I do have the ocassional frizzy hair day. I still have over half a (plastic) container of TRESemme styling putty that I purchased long before I stopped buying new plastic, but I quit using it months ago.
