Civil Disobedience Action for Healthcare in Los Angeles on October 15th

All that changed when I found www.MobilizeforHealthcare.org .

I found a group of Activists committed to Medicare For All, just like I am, who were willing to sacrifice to bring about the change we so desperately need.

And in two short weeks, I joined the cause, got arrested at a SIT-IN at Blue Cross, the insurance company that has personally denied my claims and sent me the bill for my care, and am now an organizer for the next round of actions on October 28th!
Watch as me and eleven other Los Angelinos SIT-IN at Blue Cross, while a hundred supporters cheer us on.

I believe I can develop a more sustainable way of life, and I believe I can influence my friends to follow my moves. >>Read more »

Lead for Lunch?

There has been a huge upsurge in backyard gardening in recent times, with many choosing to turn their ‘patch of dirt’ into a veggie heaven. There is one tiny drawback of this trend, which could end up spoiling the whole thing – there are increasing incidents of high levels of lead being found in urban soils. Why? Of course it’s our own fault, well not ours to be exact but out forefathers. Lead paint, lead piping, leaded gasoline all have left their indelible mark on our environment and unfortunately its closer to home than we think.
