Hug the Blogger

Hug The Blogger is a project on AltGlobe that helps bloggers reach out with their posts throughout the blogosphere to more and more readers. Group members support each other by posting links on personal blogs as well as social networking and social bookmarking sites.

How it works:
Each time one of the group's members submits a post on AltGlobe.com, all other group members will receive a notification. We ask that you bookmark or submit the same blog entry to at least three networking websites that we have found as beneficial to reaching the "alternative" audience. These sites include Delicious, Facebook, Twitter, Digg, and StumbleUpon. (If you belong to other social networking sites, you are free to use those accounts as well.)
 
How does it help?
This hugging action helps in many ways, from spreading knowledge to interested people, to creating a supportive alternative network, to building traffic on AltGlobe and, in turn, on group members' own websites.

We have found that when our members support each other in this way, it can triple the normal readership of our site. In some cases, traffic to the site increases by as much as tenfold on the day that blog posts are promoted! This increased traffic benefits everyone involved and helps continue the constantly evolving conversations on the site. 

Hug the Blogger helps give each blog post the opportunity to be viewed by thousands of conscious and aware people who are already in our extended network. By reaching out to those who are familiar with us through previous quality posts and who are friends of friends, it bypasses the problem of unfamiliarity.
 

This hugging action (linking) is an amazing tool to share all of our members' awesome knowledge about creating a better world with a maximum amount of people.

In joining this group, you should be aware that not all bloggers will be willing to submit your blog to their personal blogs and social networking sites. Bloggers may have various reasons for refraining from participating in certain projects; we ask that you respect their wishes. You are not obligated to post links to any blogs that you are not comfortable supporting. 

Once you have joined, you will automatically be enrolled in the project. Posts that you upload to AltGlobe may be sent to other group members without advance notification. If you wish to be removed from the group at any time, please contact your group manager.
