Pesah (Passover) 2008
A unique way to celebrate Pesah indeed. Mastering the
Hagada, Melanie made us all stay for 5 hours and read the story of
exodus from A to Z.The main thing that I liked in this eve (beyond the wonderful
people) is the fact that Melanie brought into the very traditional
story quotes from contemporary leaders writers and philosophers,
which talked about freedom in their own way.
Here is an example of a change in the Hagada, which is more
contemporary than the old tex
The Ten Plagues:
- Global warming
- Loss of species and biodiversity
- Deforestation
- Air and water pollution
- Los of indigenous vulture and wisdom
- War
- Political repression
- Over consumption
- Self doubt
- Judgmental mind
Freedom - is The subject of the Hagada and the main reason
for the Jewish people to celebrate this holiday. It is a day to
remind and remember that it is possible to change your status from
being slave to free person. This can go beyond the Hagada and
the Jewish tradition and talk about each one of us. We all so
want to be free from this thing or another which is rooted inside our
sols and behaviour so strong and this time of the year, the spring,
the beginning of the year, is a good time to cleanse, rejuvenate and
free ourselves from all these bad habits and thoughts.
So, I wish us all happy new year and moreover, that this year will
be the year of change from being slaves to free people and from a world slaved to power to one abundant with compassion.
Yours,
Aviad
