Philadelphia Mayor John Street announced a sustainability plan for the city which includes using renewable energy to meet 100% of the electricity needs of City Hall. The city will purchase 8.5 million kWh of wind energy through the PECO Wind program at a cost of 2.0¢/kWh. The city will also investigate the feasibility of installing solar electric and solar thermal systems at city-owned buildings.
